Insulator of the Month - Close to Home
Reprinted from "Crown Jewels of the Wire", August 2004, inside front cover

James "Pete" Dennis describes this CD 130 Cal Elec Works as his favorite insulator. True, the amber swirls make this piece unique and highly desirable. But that's not the only reason it's his favorite. Pete found many great insulators in Northern Oregon and Southern Washington States decades ago. But not this one. Pete muses that a bottle collector found this one on a "farmers" line he had overlooked... just six miles from Pete's front door. Pete says the man gave it to him because the glass was clouded with the amber swirls, unlike the dozens of other Cal Elec insulators the man and his friends were finding on the line.
